Lynn
Voice/Frame Drum/ Coming soon: Envision Sound Alchemy
Lynn Roeder is a multifaceted musician, educator, and sound healer who believes that music is for everyone and that everyone can sing. Guided by a profound love for the earth, Lynn designs learning experiences that invite students of all ages to step into a state of creative flow.
Lynn’s musical gifts were recognized early on under pivotal circumstances. While facing severe bullying in fifth grade, a compassionate choir teacher stepped in and changed the course of Lynn's life by recognizing her vocal talent and assigning her a life-affirming solo. Shortly after, at age 10, Lynn began formal piano lessons, eventually progressing to play for her high school church choir right here in Albuquerque.
This foundational passion led to a college degree in music composition. Over a lifetime of creating original music for piano, guitar, and various other instruments, Lynn has built a robust online presence. This includes a dedicated YouTube channel and six professionally produced songs available on major streaming platforms under her music name, LuneaLynn, with a special recommendation for her artist page on Bandcamp.
Holding a second degree in elementary education, Lynn has spent decades acting as a teacher and guide across diverse environments. For over 10 years, she worked as a successful ski instructor in Utah and Arizona. Additionally, Lynn spent more than 35 years as a professional river guide navigating the Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon, and the Green and Colorado Rivers.
Throughout these wilderness journeys, a "river of song" was flowing. For over 20 years, Lynn integrated music into experiential outdoor education for youth along the Grand Canyon and San Juan Rivers.
During the pandemic, Lynn expanded her technical and musical horizons, earning a sound healing certification through a holistic health organization in the UK. Equipped with an organic, holistic approach to voice training, Lynn incorporates the traditional Shruti box and a vast array of sound healing instruments into her practice.
Lynn currently focuses on ancient lineage percussion, specifically the frame drum, shamanic-style drums, and the tambourine. Having spent the last five years mastering diverse rhythmic patterns known as solkatu, Lynn adds a signature flair by composing original songs over these intricate rhythms. Lynn loves guiding others to connect with the voice of their soul, utilizing simultaneous singing and drumming to build new neural pathways, unlock timeless states of consciousness, and step into total alignment with the true beauty of music.
Deeply connected to nature, Lynn possesses a goddess-given green thumb and previously ran a successful organic gardening business. Today, she continues to garden, live, and create in Albuquerque alongside her two beloved dogs: Begonia and Bija (named after the Sanskrit word for "seed").
