Voice & Music Theory
With over a decade of experience in choirs and diverse musical ensembles, including concert, marching, and jazz band, Elena has built a strong foundation in voice, musicianship, and performance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of New Mexico, where she deepened her expertise in music theory, history, and vocal technique. In addition to her classical vocal training, Elena explored musical theatre and jazz vocal techniques, broadening her stylistic versatility.
Born in the United States to German parents, Elena is fluent in German and often incorporates her language skills into teaching music from a variety of cultures and in multiple languages. She believes music is more than just sound, it is self expression, history, language, physics, and mathematics, and is passionate about showing students how these connections appear in both academics and everyday life. Her fun, adaptive teaching style encourages students to explore new musical discoveries while mastering the essential fundamentals of vocal technique and music theory.
