Colin Martin is a composer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated with his Masters of Music (MM) in Composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2018, having studied with David Garner. He earned his Bachelor's of Arts (BA) in Music with Honors from Middlebury College in 2015, with minors in Spanish and Chinese. He has also studied composition with Su Lian Tan, piano with Diana Fanning and Maribeth Gunning, and percussion with Douglas Cardwell. Mr. Martin annually premieres new solo piano works at the Southwest Piano Festival in Albuquerque, of which he is a founding member. His first major orchestral work, a symphony celebrating Leonard Bernstein's centennial and commissioned by the New Mexico Philharmonic, premiered in 2019, and the NMP commissioned him again for a work for soprano and orchestra, set to premiere in February 2021.

Mr. Martin’s output includes multiple symphonies, concerti, sonatas, chamber works, song cycles, and works for choir. As a teacher, he believes in making music fun and enriching, as well as encouraging individuality and self-discovery through art.
