On November 2nd, Ovie Nirgudkar   was awarded 1st place in “The International Piano Competition Clavis Saint Petersburg 2018.”   As winner of this competition, Ovie was able to perform  one of her winning pieces, Tchaikovsky’s Dumka, Op. 59, in a gala concert  at Sheremetev Palace in Russia.  She also presented Franz Liszt’s “Unsospiro” on behalf of United States-an award she won at 2018 Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition for Young Artists. Ovie has now been invited to perform in Austria and Spain next year.

Ovie's family and our team here at the Albuquerque Institute of Music are incredibly proud of her for this accomplishment. It is such a distinct honor to perform and win at the mecca of classical music.  The accolades from all the judges and music teachers  at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and Shostakovich School were emotional and well-deserved.  Ovie's family would like to  thank her teacher, Tatyana Bayliyeva, for her   instruction and dedication.   Congratulations , Ovie!
